On September 7, 2022, the Bank of Canada hiked its policy rate to 3.25% from 2.50%, matching analyst forecasts and hitting a level not seen since April 2008 as it battles to tame inflation. The next scheduled date for announcing the overnight rate target is October 26, 2022.....  

Beyond expectation of most economists (which was an increase of 0.75%), the Bank of Canada increased its key interest rate by 1%, bringing the central bank’s policy rate to 2.50% on July 13, 2022.....
